Oh Inigo. This is sad news but maybe now the vets know it's your heart, you can get on the right meds and feel better soon.
If the diagnosis now is HCM (which can only be diagnosed definitely by ultrasound), it is found in the Ragdoll breed, but it is also the most common heart defect in cats in general.
It is scary, but it is treatable. Our mewmie has had 3 Cornish Rex with HCM too even though breeders hide their heads in the sand about it in the breed. She scans all Sammy and Coco and Kiki every year for it.
Unfortunatel, their are many cats in the CB that know of this disease, but we also are there for you and can try to help you in any way we can, with information, with support, with purrs...
