Dante is not a very loud purrer at all. He has other loud noises he makes, however.
That is so awesome Rumbles! Lola kind of has the girl cat version of that going - you can hear her all the way across the room!

My purr is very loud, too. The Girl says that it is certainly the loudest purr in Tennessee, if not the entire South. I like to purr at oh-hell-no AM to wake her up. Chicken breath helps too!
