She's thrown out the Temptations (I'm not supposed to eat them because they cause my acne to flare up) and we're gonna see what happens. Hammy had a shot that should keep him from scratching the area any more than he already has.

In other news, that Ham now weights 6.82KG - which is 15Lbs... that's almost as big as ME!

I am not surprised the vet thought it was allergies - I sort of suspected as much. I just want to say, you two are BIG mancats! Like three-times-my-size mancats! I am less than 6 lbs. Sometimes I am only 5-1/2 lbs.
We didn't realise you had grown so big Hammy - silly us were still thinking of you as "kitten size"!
Rumbles will have to beware now as you'll be able to give him sharp whap if he gets too bossy.

Well Hammy, it looks like you and our Mewmew are in the same boat. She went to the vet yesterday too and has horrible allergies. We tried some grain free food and it didn't work. Hope the shot works for you. You sure are a big boy now. Take care.
Icky allergies. It's funny cuz when I was having suspected allergy problems, they mentioned chicken then too. M tried to buy me grain free kibble, but I turned my nose up at 3 kinds. The more expensive and healthier it is supposed to be, the more I refuse to eat it. She's so frustrated, but I just can't help it if I don't like it.
We're sorry you have allergies! Samson had allergies that gave him bald spots too. The vet also said it was likely a food allergy but it turned out to be (we think) an inhalant allergy. We're pretty sure he was allergic to perfume products (like scented plugins, room spray, etc) because as soon as Mommy got rid of them, he got better and has been better ever since.

Did you ever think Hammy might be allergic to himself? Ham isn't suitable for efurryone's consumption, after all.
I've been hearing quite a bit about those itchies lately. It can't be contagious because you're in Australia and we're all in North America. However, it seems to be a very common problem.
Otherwise, you seem to be quite a big, healthy boy! Just like your big brother.
