I join the club - Rumbles

I get a bad rap around here as being the 'less than angelic' or 'occasionally naughty' kitty.

I reckon I have to change my image a bit, so I've tried mimicking Inigo (charter member of the 'Good Kitty Club' *snort*)

One of the things that Inigo does real well? He has excellent back-lighting!


And so, I give you... RUMBLES the GOOD kitty!!

Something you don't know about me... I love to diggy. Rumblemum can't understand why I do it, but I've always done it! When I hop on the bed, I dig the spot first before I sleep on it. When I stand on a magazine, I diggy it first.

In this case, Rumblemum thinks I'm showing the Hush Puppy who's boss...

Bootiful new friends... Inigo

I managed to beat Rumbles to the email the other day, and I've met a BOOTIFUL new kitty blogger!!

Miss Clarissa is a lovely young lady... she has 14 brothers and sisters!! They have some great adventures, and a nice bloggy! She doesn't know many kitties out there, so if you have some time stop in and say hello to her (and don't tell Rumbles or he'll try to smooch her)

Today, something different! - Inigo

We mentioned that Rumblemum was doing bake sales - she wanted me to share a recipe with you all!

She hadn't heard of these cookies before she moved here, they're called Afghans. They're so simple to make, they don't need eggs (Rumblemum doesn't like eggs) and they're SO NOMMY (so she says. I don't buy it because there isn't any tuna in them)

Here is her favorite recipe for them.

Ingredients for Biscuit:
200g softened butter
½ cup sugar
1 ¼ cup plain flour
¼ cup Cocoa powder
2 cups cornflakes

Ingredients for Icing:
1/8 cup cream (heated)
150g White Choc Bits (or you can use dark choc or milk choc)
Hazelnuts (or walnuts)

Method for Biscuit:
Cream butter and sugar until coats the bowl. Add flour and cocoa and mix gently.
Add cornflakes and stir.
Form into large golfballs and press onto the tray
Bake at 180c for 15mins
Cool
When cold, top with while chocolate ganache and 1 hazelnut.

Ganache:
Heat cream to boiling point but do not boil. Add chocolate and stir till smooth. Cool before coating.

Yesterday and today - Inigo

Yesterday was Rumbledad's birthday. It was BRILLIANT!! He stayed home with *ME, and we had late sleepy cuddles. Then we got up and watched American Football and nomed on cake by the heater all day!!

Today he left me alllll alone... in the cold... hardly any noms... This is the face I gave him as he was leaving.

Please sir..can I have some gruel?

I can't believe he left me...

Zombie cat finds hunt for brains futile in this house...

For those that were wondering, Rumbledad got a Cannon EOS 500 D camera. And yes he is enjoying using it very much.

When Rumblemum pointed out that it would have been smarter to maybe get the camera BEFORE the model contest started rather than AFTER, Rumbledad mumbled something and walked away.... heh heh heh

Many congrats to the winner of the NZ Next Top Model Contest! Cruz the handsome Burmese (we dare say he looks like Misha!!) has taken the title.

It was a fantastically fun race, and we're really glad to have taken part. Rumbles was a little sad till he started getting LOTS of smoochies from all the bootiful girl cats - he seems much better now *sigh*

I know we keep saying this, but we really mean it - thanks to every single person that donated, commented, posted, or helped us in any way... it has meant so much to us that everyone has been so kind and supportive. If we tried for 20 years we'd never be able to express our gratitude. 

I'm glad things will be getting back to normal here, and I'll be on the blog lots!!

Rumblemum is honestly so overwhelmed at all the kindness she's seen while in this contest. Big news at the Rumblebum house - Inigo

Rumbledad bought a new camera!!!!! A REAL camera! Now we'll never get any peace!

Not too sure I like having another camera in the house...

Now some of you were wondering what we decided to call Fat Duck. We've decided to stick with Fat Duck - it just seemed appropriate. We loved all the suggestions we got tho!!! We also got him a friend - Fat Duck II.

The fat ducks do earn their keep around here - Rumblemum thinks they'll keep Rumbles from sitting on the speakers (the only real house rule - no cats on speakers)

We've got $1,760 in donations now for the NZ Next Top Cat Model contest!

Rumblemum has been holding bake sales at her work every week, offering home baked cookies and cupcakes... she wasn't sure how much she'd raised (because there were a LOT of coins!) but on final count, it was a little over $400! (and so far nobody has sued her for giving them food poisoning, so that's a good thing too!)

This  makes us the top fundraiser so far in the contest! This is thanks to you, all my friends in the blogosphere that have donated and retweeted and blogged about us.

The whole contest has done very well (this should put the total at over $18,000 for all the kitties put together) and we're so proud of everyone that has entered. Everyone has worked SO hard and been such good sports.

I'd like to thank each and every one of you for your patience, kind words, donations and support. It's nice to finally be in the home stretch of this contest!!

Look what came in the mail! - Rumbles and Inigo

OMC! Rumblemum wanted to get some nice cards done up of us to send out to people (she's thinking maybe for our Xmas cards!) and she ordered some to be specially made.

They arrived yesterday, and we're so thrilled! They're really lovely (of course they are, it's photos of  US!)

The store she got them from is here, and the artist is absolutely brilliant!!

You can't tell from this, but the card paper is so lovely, and there is really beautiful printing on the back of all the cards.

Many thanks again to Ingrid, she's done a lovely job, and we can't wait to start sending these out to BOOTIFUL girlcats!!!

Yes. I love my mummy. She comes home, gives me cuddles and gives me noms. The only way I could love her more would be if she didn't leave at all, ever.

My friends... I know I keep saying it, but I really do appreciate every single thing that you've all done to help me out, and I'm sorry to keep being such a pest about the contest. It's been an excellent fundraiser for the charities, with over $17,000 being raised so far.

I've been super lucky to get support from a brilliant local artist. She's taken her most beautiful piece out of her shop to offer it here to help me with my model dreams!

Hello my friends...

I've decided I need to start taking this modelling thing more seriously. At the moment, I'm tied for first place... I think it's time to start pulling out some of my signature RUMBLE-looks.
