We've got $1,760 in donations now for the NZ Next Top Cat Model contest!

Rumblemum has been holding bake sales at her work every week, offering home baked cookies and cupcakes... she wasn't sure how much she'd raised (because there were a LOT of coins!) but on final count, it was a little over $400! (and so far nobody has sued her for giving them food poisoning, so that's a good thing too!)

This  makes us the top fundraiser so far in the contest! This is thanks to you, all my friends in the blogosphere that have donated and retweeted and blogged about us.

The whole contest has done very well (this should put the total at over $18,000 for all the kitties put together) and we're so proud of everyone that has entered. Everyone has worked SO hard and been such good sports.

Rumblin' round on a rainy Sunday - Rumblepurr

Hello my friends...

I've decided I need to start taking this modelling thing more seriously. At the moment, I'm tied for first place... I think it's time to start pulling out some of my signature RUMBLE-looks.

Day two update - Rumbles

My friends... I'm so excited to say... oh I can't even say it, let me show you!

Thanks to all my amazing friends out there, I'm in first place in the New Zealand Next Top Model contest!! There is still lots of time to vote, and I'm offering smoochies for every vote!

MIGHTY CHEERING - Rumbles

My friends!! I know I was going to let Inigo have some blog time, but Rumblemum has the flu and hasn't been keeping up our blog as she should...

I wanted to let you all know that I've made it through to the final round of the Next Top Cat Model contest!!! I was the third highest fundraiser thanks to all of you! I hope that you guys know how much I appreciate every single penny donated. I know it's hard times out there, and for some of you to donate $5 was the same as to donate $500 - I hope you know how touched I was at every single donation.. From the bottom of my heart I say thank you to every single person that gave.

The next phase will begin later this week, and it'll be for votes. You'll only get to vote once, so if you please could save a vote for me.. and I'll set up my kissing booth again for all voters!! Man-cats, I can give smoochies to your mummy's!

I've been keeping a watchful eye on the Rumblemum. She's doing better today, but you never know when she may fall over and drop some tuna or something. Not letting her out of my sight.

OH! And I got the most BRILLIANT gift today!! My friend Whskr has made the Rumblemum an amazing pendant of MEEEEEEE!! It is so pretty, and now Rumblemum can have me close to her heart all the time! This is Whskr's etsy page, she's got all kinds of cool stuff, and she can make stuff on order (like pendants of MEEEEEEE)

Blown away - Rumbles

OMC!!! Someone has made an AMAZING donation, and I'm in first place on the leader board! I don't know who made the donation, but I hope they know how much it means to me (and to the kitties at my charities, SPCA and Cats Protection Society) Rumblemum was a little teary when she saw this morning.

And the EXTRA good news,I got SO many cuddles because Rumblemum was so happy and touched at every person that has donated or had a kind word to say for me.

So the contest is heading into the final stretch this weekend!! The top five fundraisers will go on to the next phase of the contest (the voting phase) and the judges will also pick five kitties to go on to the next round.

At the moment I'm third highest in donations thanks to all of you -  see the top six kitty fundraisers here. My paws are crossed that I make it through to the next round!

Thank you to everyone that's donated. So far the contest has raised $12,571.48 for charity - an AMAZING amount for all the poor kitties that haven't found their forever home yet, and that total has already surpassed the amount they raised last year!

The next phase is the voting phase - you'll be able to give your choice for the top kitty. Each person is only allowed one vote, and there are TEN bootiful kitties... very exciting!

Well, today was a BIG day for me, Rumblemum and Rumbledad decided to do my big photoshoot today!

Rumblemum ironed a backdrop (aka a sheet) and they used some of the best lighting in the WHOLE world (aka they opened all the blinds)

I, of course, was a total pro about the whole thing. But SOME big brothers got their noses out of joint and had to muscle in on my big shoot!! 'Good kitty club' my eye! The boy is a camera hog!

FOXY Friday - a BOOTIFUL fellow model! - Rumbles

This week I'd like to feature one of my BOOTIFUL fellow models, the lovely Chevy. She doesn't have her own blog, so I wanted to show the world how lovely she is (and maybe steal some smoochies)

Chevy has a very wise Daddy, cause he KNEW how special she is at first site! She'd been living at the Wellington SPCA for five or six months, and poor sweet Chevy kept getting overlooked. She has very unique ears (they didn't grow properly, she has just the 'fluff' in one ear, and a partial ear on the other side) so the silly families that came to look at kittens didn't notice her.

When her Daddy visited the SPCA he fell in love at first site, and who could blame him! She is so sweet looking!

The good news is that Miss Chevy has perfect hearing, specially for the treat packet being opened!!

She loves to talk all the time to anyone that will listen, and she is a super affectionate little girl. Scritchies are her FAVORITE (hmmm, can I scritchy without a thumb? I'll need to visit Miss Chevy and find out!)

We both wish Chevy lots and lots of luck in the Top Model Contest. I feel honored to be in the running with such amazing kitties. Her donation page is here.

A new contest to help Rumbles become NZ Next Top Cat Model - Rumbles

Hello my friends! I'm going to start a new contest! But first, the winner of our last draw is...

YIPPEE!! Thank you so much to everyone that has already donated! We've raised a fantastic amount for our charity, and I'm currently number two in the fundraising!!

I'm going to have a new draw now for everyone that makes a donation to my cause (which is the Wellington Cats Protection League - you can read more about them here)

After you make a donation, please comment on this post to let me know. You don't have to say how much you've donated in your comment, just comment that you've made a donation. (and remember, the NZ $ is MUCH lower than Canadian, American, Australian or pretty much any other dollar out there, so you get lots of bang for your buck! Just to give an example, $10 US = about $14 NZ! And 10 pounds (UK) = about $21 NZ! $10 Australian = $12 NZ!)

I'll then be making a random draw from all the post comments, the winner of the draw will get a $30US gift certificate from Nip and Bones. I'll be drawing this one on July 3.

I know Rumbles is the one running for New Zealand's Next Top Cat Model, but I think he needs a bit of help. Since I've been posing a lot longer than him, I'm going to give him some tips.

Tip 1: Fluff that ruff!

A fluffy ruff will make you look more majestic, and will help accentuate your whiskers. There are very few that can resist squeeing when they see the ruff fluff.

Tip 2: The half turn

The advantage to this pose is that you get the fluffy ruff, but you also get both eyes. Since I have handsome eyes, this is a very good pose for me.

Tip 3: I wonder what they're doing over there

This can be a tricky one. It's a full face, but the eyes are looking to the distance. The power of this shot is that it adds a bit of mystery - the viewer wonders what they're not seeing that I am (I was seeing Rumbles knocking something over in case you wondered *sigh*)

Tip 4: Look wise

When in doubt, pretend you're a lion. Look super wise, fluff the ruff and PURRRRRR.

I've also decided that rather than wait for the draw to win the $40 gift certificate for Nip and Bones, I'm going to make the draw tomorrow (we're not good at waiting for exciting things! tee hee!) 

Rumbles is thinking he might hold another draw starting tomorrow for any new donaters that might want to support him in the contest. So, if anyone wants to donate to help him and the Cat Protection Society, it will be a new chance to win a new prize drawing starting tomorrow! 

We all really appreciate how generous everyone has been to help Rumbles. This isn't just something we're just saying, we honestly thank everyone that has left a sweet comment or donated to our cause.

Iz gonna get you sucker! - Rumbles

We've been issued a challenge by the NZ Next Top Model contest. They want to see us modelling with our favorite toy.

I've got a great many favorites, but the one that truly captures my heart is the infamous little red dot.

Rumblemum NEVER lets me play with it any more, because I get soooooOooo worked up. I play till I drop (quite literally) and I spend the whole day looking for it once it disappears (again, literally)

She decided to bring it out special for this contest - she was thinking that I'd matured a lot since the last time we played with it, and it's a great little toy...




MISTAKE! hehehe... what you don't see in this video is me running around in circles trying to catch the dot... me looking EVERYWHERE for it after it went away (I'm still looking for it. I'm convinced it's under the sofa now)

I get the feeling from the concerned look on her face I won't be seeing my laser toy again.

Like all his strutting around wasn't bad enough.. now he's sold some of MY toys on eBay so he can make donations to the 'bootiful lady cats' in the competition!

I can't blame him - there really are some pretty girls running... but MY toys?? I'm so totally eating his food tonight...

Miss Lily is a lovely girl, Rumbles has known her as 'Queen Lily' on Twitter - she has such stunning markings!

And another Lily! A girl with an excellent name, Lily Sassymeow, has got Rumbles all in a tizzy (and me a little bit too - she's part Ragdoll and part Birman!)

Finally, one of our fellow bloggers - Soxycat! Who can resist such a BOOTIFUL girl? Not Rumbles apparently!

It's a very good thing that I've hidden my toys, or they'd be gone so he could donate to all the lovely girls that have entered the contest! I cut Rumbles off just when he noticed the sister of one of our favorite friends, Madeline!

Now you know that Rumbles is trying to be a model (he's looking at himself in the mirror as we speak) but it's a super good cause that all the models are raising money for - various Cat Protection Leagues throughout New Zealand, and the NZ SPCA.

Rumbles is playing for the Wellington League (because he heard there were bootiful girls there *sigh*)

The League is run totally on donations, and this model contest is a brilliant way to give attention to a very worthy cause.

I've asked the lovely people at the League if we could have some photos of the kitties that are looking for homes - just in case anyone local maybe needed a new addition to their family?
